1BR Getaway w/ Breathtaking Views + King Bed

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here in the 1 bedroom unit with the pull out couch for the kids (11 and 9). We did have some issues though. I'd say you definitely need a rental vehicle if you stay here. I was planning on getting a Jeep anyway to explore St Thomas and St John. So that wasn't a problem. We stayed 3 nights, July 11-14. Months before in separate emails, I confirmed that the washer/dryer worked and that they had a generator because I knew St Thomas' power grid has constant issues going out. Well, I don't think the washing machine really worked. My wife had to try 3 different settings and the clothes did not seem or smell clean. This was an issue because we were going to the BVI to charter a boat for 7 days after this stay. The power went out on most of the island our last morning. I called Shirley to confirm that it was not just our building. I then asked about the generator. She told me that they haven't hooked it up yet. 3.5 months prior to this stay, I emailed asking if they had a generator and this was the response I got, "because of the recent outages, we just purchased a generator to supply power to all of our units. No worries on this front." They purchased it, but hadn't installed it, and there was no mention of this prior. The pool was filled right up to or just below the jets. It wasn't usable. When I booked this place, we narrowed it down to this one and another place. The pool was the deciding factor for us, and we couldn't use it. The kids could have enjoyed it the last morning while my wife and I wringed out and tried to dry a washing machine tub full of clothes and water after the power went out. I will say that the unit was clean. We had plenty of hot water and the air conditioning worked well. The kitchen was well stocked and the kitchen appliances worked. It has a good view of the airport and the ocean to the west. Some of the view in front of the balcony is blocked by trees. Overall, it was a good value for the money.

Shirley was amazing, upon arriving in St.Thomas. We contacted the host and was given directions to the address, being from St. Thomas and mom lives there of course I had to stop by to see mom’s first, at my moms place checked in with Shirley in which she gave clear directions to the place from moms place that was in the area. Once we’ve got there we were amazed by the beautiful view from the house, it was simply breathtaking. We went into our apartment area and equally amazed by the beauty of the apartment for the 5 days that we were there we had an incredible time, we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying in St.Thomas. We would definitely stay here again.

The accommodations were clean, the hosts were very nice and responsive, and the views overlooking the Cyril E. King airport and Crown Bay marine terminal were spectacular. I especially enjoyed seeing the big jets taking off and cruise ships arriving and departing. On clear days, one could see St.Croix to the South and Puerto Rico to the West. It is worth noting that the property is located on a hill. Although it was not a problem for me, nor should be for the average person, individuals with limited mobility should know that they must navigate a series of stairs and ramps to access the apartment. I especially appreciated the fact that I left in better physical shape than when I first arrived. New Years Resolution complete!
